    Hey Everyone!

My gosh it's been a long time, or at least, that's what it feels like! Just about at two months now I think since my last entry. Wow!

I'd desperately like to say I'm doing well, but alas for my life has taken a sudden, sharp turn that has left me standing in the middle of the road wondering how in the world I got there. One thing I can pretty much safely say though, is that 2009 has officially been the worst year of my life.

It all started with a winter retreat in the mountains, a weekend with fifty teenagers, and a dance.

The results of these things have managed to accomplish ruining the past two months of my life since I got home from that winter retreat on January fourth this year. It's been pure hell for me.

But, even though, I've suffered a great deal mentally over some of these things, I wouldn't have changed a single thing.

Since there's so incredibly much that has happened, and so much that has changed, I'm definitely not going to even TRY and attempt to explain any part of it. So, I'm just going to leave it at that, and try to move on in the best way I can.

So.......why don't I ramble on for a little while about one of the things that matter the most to me in life? 'Cause I know how you all just LOVE to hear about my music life. :P

First of all, I haven't performed anywhere since City Walk back in December.....O.o I know, strange isn't it?! No jams, no concerts, no recitals.

I am, however, working on a performance I'm supposed to do the thirtieth of this month though, which has managed to keep me going. Our main theme for our Spring/Winter show has pretty much been based on Jazz, which I have to admit, I do NOT prefer listening to. But, just like Classical, it is incredibly fun to play! Probably because of the swinging. It's taking mind power to swing the music since no swinging is written, and I'm not used to it! :P Intense stuff, but I think I'm managing it alright.

Jazz isn't my specialty though, and I have no problems admitting to that. :P

    Current list of our songs:

"Out of Nowhere"~Two page Jazz piece, I'm on 1st violin as usual. :P Probably getting a solo in this one.

"Take Five"~Short little jazz piece which I prefer above the others. :P No solos here, and still on 1st violin.

"Jericho"~well-known piece that I can definitely say is extremely boring to play. Still on 1st violin.

"Sing, Sing, Sing"~ our longest jazz piece (four pages!!), and definitely our most intense one to play. I am on 1st violin here, and will probably be getting another solo.

"Bees Are Boppin'"~ *sigh* Puts me to sleep. :P 1st violin.

"Russian Gypsy Song"~ definitely one of my favourites to play! I absolutely love Russian tunes. 1st violin.

"Arabian Dreams"~ Also one of our more fun pieces to play. I'm probably getting the solo here as well! 1st violin.

"Big, Bad, Boogie"~ *sigh* Another one that puts me to sleep. :P 1st violin.

"Celtic Roots"~ CAN YOU BELIEVE I'M NOT GETTING THE SOLO?!?! I lost it to someone who absolutely adores this piece, and has to work on her bowing issues. My teacher said it was the only piece that girl will actually *work* on. I will for sure get it next time, but I'm still mad. Still on 1st violin here, but not happily. :(

"Fugue In G Minor"~ I love it. Back is the absolute most fun classical music to play. 2nd violin here since no one in that section can play it.....'cept for me of course. :D

"Fugue In G Minor, The Great"~ A larger fugue than the one above. I love this one as well, gives me a chance to go up in second/third position a lot. 1st violin.

And that's all I know of that we're playing. We probably have more though, since I managed to miss our last meeting of orchestra thanks to nosey, grounding parents. I swear, they abuse they're power of being parents.

Can't think of much else to go on about.....That was kind of a pointless post, but hey, it let you all know that I'm still alive and haven't dropped off the face of the earth!

I'm going to try and post more on here, I do miss blogging. It used to be the best way for me to sort through things in my head. I wonder how that managed to change. *shrugs*

    Alright then. Goodbye for now!

    Hi......

Alas, Christmas has come, and gone once again.

That familiar depression of not being able to feel the magic of the season for another ten months (at least) has pretty much clouded over me. Of course, it hasn't been much of a season for me seeing as how I missed a lot of our regular traditions, due to my insanely busy music life that I love.  But, it was a good Christmas, altogether.

I managed to get away with not spending over fifty-dollars on Christmas presents for people this year! That's not to say I'm broke.......still.......

My parents were extremely generous this year, and they bought the family a Wii! Which, I hate to say, I love playing on despite my lack of video game skills! It's unlike any video game I've been subjected to play, and definitely much more fun. The best thing about it, is it's interactive! One has to move with it! My brother challenged me to about fifteen boxing matches on it on Christmas, and me being me, I couldn't turn down his challenges. I ended up not winning very many of them, and waking up the next day with a soar arm.  And I do NOT have weak arms (*ahem*fiddler/violinist*ahem*), but that kid beat me to death!

I ended up getting a new iPod for Christmas (purple!!!!!!!!!!!!), since my last one ran out of room! It only fit (ruffly) one-thousand songs in it (approximately four minutes long), and to someone who doesn't listen to much music, that may sound like a lot, but it really isn't! Especially when most of the songs I have downloaded are OVER four minutes long. So yeah......I love the colour! It's a dark-ish neon purple that just catches the light in this perfect way.........okay, I'm obsessed........And, I worship the headphones! There amazing, compared to my old ones....*shudders*

I got a few books as well, including the Starchatchers Trilogy (yeah, the ones Kelsey doesen't much enjoy), and the last two Twilight books to complete my collection (yes, yes. No one on here likes those books, so be it! I love them).

There's not much more to say about Christmas, since I hate rambling on about what people gave me (it's a wee bit selfish, yes?), so that pretty much completes my Holiday season.

Last Saturday I went and worked on Rose Parade floats!!!! I worked with a few other people on the mural on the side of the Farmers Market float, so if you see it on New Years Day, know that that was my work! It was called something like "Family Outing", so keep an eye out for it!

That was fun, it took us all day to do that mural. I'll tell you all this: I appreciate rose parade floats much, MUCH more now that I know what kind of work goes into them! It's a good thing I'm not a hyper-active person, otherwise gluing on all those seeds would NEVER have happened. (Of course, "hyper" doesn't quite capture the way I was acting after a few wiffs of that oasis glue stuff.......ugh.......nothing like getting high off of glue. )

So, uh.....yeah....... I'm out of ideas now of things to type about........I love purple. I found two new Celtic/Irish violinists/fiddlers to listen to. I'm getting beat left and right on Geo Challenge on FB by my so-called 'friends' ("take it easy on me!!! I'm geographically-retarded"). I've spent two hours today ear-listening to the songs "Erin Shore", and "Rebel Heart", so I can play them. There's a dance on Saturday I'm supposed to attend, and I have no idea what to wear. I bought the two "Book of Lost Tales" by J.R.R. Tolkien for two dollars from the library, and fifty-year old copies of Pride and Prejudice, and Wind in the Willows for two more dollars. I've become best friends with the hair-straightener. and I'm going to camp in the snow this weekend.

    Okay, I'm done now! Bye!

    I'm still here!

Gosh, I have been so incredibly busy lately! Apparantely, to busy to take the time and write some sort of post on here stating that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth......yet.......

Since my last post (when was that.....? About a month ago, right?) I've been playing with the orchestra all over town! I'm not going to go into details about where we've been playing since that would take forever, but I will say this: I have never been enjoying myself more!

I am glad to announce though that I did indeed get the "Five Ukrainians in a Bell Tower" second violin solo, and I've played it at every place we've performed.

For the show on Saturday, we lost two of our strongest players to certain unfortunate events, so I'm officially being switched over to first violin since I'm the only one that can play as strongly as both those players. And we need power, or else we're going to fail miserably.......I do fear for my poor second violins though, I wonder how they'll survive without me.

OOH! We went to Ameoba Records the other day and ran into the lead singer from the band of Foo Fighters! Well, I didn'tactually get to talk to him, I didn't even know he was there until he walked out with a stack of CDs.....Ugh. I'm not a huge Foo Fighters fan (I'm actually pretty far from that...), and I know some of you probably don't even know who they are, but a few of their songs are good, and their all over the place right now! I mean, he announced some of the nominees in the Grammy nominations show the other night! I know people who would die if I told them that I was shopping with him.....I just hope he wasn't one of the poor mortals I stood behind tapping my foot for them to move.......(hey, one-hour isn't a lot of time to shop in a place like Ameoba Records!).

I'm NOT star-struck, but I look up to people who have made it in music. I want it so bad, that meeting people who have gotten in, is a neat thing.

I can't type a large post right now, my sister just got on the radio (millions of people heard her, haha....), and they're going to try and play Nightwish's song "Amaranth" or me. *flashes smile* So, I'm off to go listen for it!

(And I quote: "Yeah, my sister's a huge Nightwish fan, and she's been wanting to hear it played for a long time". HA! But, wouldn't it be neat if one of the band members heard that?! I am a huge Nightwish fan, they're almost up there with Enya *gasp*, but as sad as this may sound, I would advice you all NOT to look into them. They're a bit......dark.......darker, and heavier than what I usually listen to, and probably more darker, and heaier than anything you guys would ever like.... So, yeah...take my advice......)

You all know I have a strange style in music, I like a bit of a lot of different genres. Of course, all of them are fantasy-based, but.......

Okay, I'm really leaving now! Talk soon!

    ~The fantasy-crazed violinist *wink*

    Last of the Wilds.....

Everyone seems to be fairly busy seeing as how there's no recent activity going on except a few pulses.....

By the way, the title of this post has nothing whatsoever to do with it. It's just a song I really like these days.

I, myself, have not been busy at all (I've been everything EXCEPT busy), but grounded from the computer.....still.......Please, don't say anything, I know what you're thinking. Don't think I've done anything exceptionally evil to deserve a punishment of being banned from online activity for more than three months, because I haven't done anything like that.

Well, the release of Twilight is one week away. I'm not particularly excited, even if I am planning to go see it opening weekend. Yes, I liked the books, but I can already see them ruining the movie (a lot....), so I'm trying to get over being upset about that. But after I saw the extended trailer they released, I'm pretty upset. It was very clear in the books how extremely careful Edward was about his and Bella's physical contact, I guess they're going to ignore that in this movie though. Great.

It just seems like they're turning it into a total pretty-boy, pretty-girl movie. And that's the last thing this world needs, another male celebrity for girls to druel over. *rolls eyes* Really ladies, move ON! It's just a book, and it's just a MOVIE!!! He's not even real!

And if the fangirls are bad enough, we can take a look at the music for the movie....shall we?

    ........................

Wow. And can you believe it's selling like mad? IT'S ALL ROCK MUSIC!!!! I'm not against rock music, but I heard one of the songs on the radio the other day, and it's complete whiney "oh my gosh, he's breaking up with me/I used to know you so well, what happened" boohoo, whine-whine, moan-moan, croak-croak moronic songs. Wow, did I just type all of that?! Not at all fitting to Twilight.

I apologize for this seemingly-endless ramblings about Twilight, it's just that I really did enjoy the books, and I'm tired of having to deal with people messing things up. I know that most of you haven't read the books, and already judge that you won't like them since it's 'romance' and such (maybe that's not the EXACT reason, but I've met enough "I hate Twilight!", "have you read it?", "No. But I just know that I hate them!!!" people to kind of get the idea *rolls eyes*, If a person isn't going to read a book, don'y go on an endless rant about how much you hate it!!! I make sure to watch and read things before I complain and hate them like that!) but I liked them a lot. So please, I get enough crap from everyone I come in contact with about them, don't complain about them in my face!

    *clears throat* Moving on.....

The orchestra still hasn't done auditions for "Five Ukrainians in a Bell Tower", everyone who's auditioning seems to be busy each time we try and get together! We ought to try and get that done, since we're performing somewhere in less than two weeks......

So, "The Butterfly" is giving me quite a challenge (hey, Mairead is a bit higher than I am....We all know that!) making it sound good, but I do have it memorized and that counts for something..... Practice, practice, practice for me.....

I officially have two-hundred saved for my violin upgrade next year (if I remember correctly it' going to be around a thousand dollars....)! That's big news...to me......

So, it looks like I'm going to winter camp at the place where I go to summer camp (haha....) in January. I've never been to winter camp, but everyone I know who has gone seems to like it a lot. My parents decided to be nice and pay for my entry! I think that I get dropped off New Year's Day if I remember correctly, and it last for the weekend (there's a dance on Saturday night, YAY!!!!!)!

I watched a behind the scenes history on Celtic Woman thing yesterday in the new DVD. It was amazing, I had no idea how incredibly hard they all worked. Well, I knew they worked hard, but seeing it all really made me realize how much each member put into the show, the music, etc.... It was really informative, and I really loved watching all the interviews with the girls, David, producers, directors, etc....

Celtic Woman is touring with their "Isle of Hope" show this year....and their coming out here again, hmm.......

Could I have someone clue me on on this "nano" thing everyone seems to be doing? I know it has something to do with writing a certain amount in a certain period of time, but I never got all of the facts about it so I could be wrong.....

Ah, Christmas is on it's way! Unfortunately, I would be so much happier if the stores waited at least until Thanksgiving is over to start playing Christmas music on the loud speakers, setting up Christmas scenes, holiday toys, etc..... It is a bit annoying.

Ugh, I hate the weather right now. It's in the middle of November, the sun is shining and it's eighty-degrees! Why do I have to live in Los Angeles??? Can you believe it's been weeks and weeks since we had a single cloudy day? Ugh!

I can't really think of much else to say. So, goodbye for now!

  • Hello peoples!

My Birthday is officially over....along with it's party.

The party was fantastic! Almost everyone we invited showed up! We played a few games, but mostly hung around and listened to music. *laughs* We got one of our friends to download a Jonas Brothers song to play and freak everyone out with.....It worked, everyone pretty much lost it when it started playing.  It was ghilarious to see the reactions on my pillow-enemy's face (you'll find out who that is soon enough.....I'm sure that Aly already knows though if she's been on FB lately.)

Anyways it was fun, I enjoyed myself a lot, and I got a lot of really nice gifts! Two gift cards to Barnes and Noble (=45.00, *squee*), a gift card to iTunes, an American Express gift card, two movie tickets, a pathetic Disney Channel card my pillow-friend gave me (she's so cruel!), and a Celtic Woman New Journey CD (Oi, I now have three of them!)!

My actual Birthday was rather odd, we were busy all day. I couldn't think of anything I wanted, so my dad took me on a free trip to Ameoba records! I got a bunch of new CD's.

     I ended up buying-

-Celtic Woman a Christmas Celebration DVD

-Loreena McKennitt, No Journey's End DVD

    -Elemental, Loreena McKennitt

    -Misty Eyed Adventures, Moya Brennan

    -Blue Violet, Eileen Ivers

-Lord of the Dance (no, I didn't have it! I just kept borrowing it from the library...)

-Celtic Treasure, Hayley Westenra (YAY!!!!! I finally have it....)

    -Oceanborn, Nightwish

-My Winter Storm, Tarja Turunen (I've been waiting for that one for a while now...)

    -Lenka, by....eh....Lenka

    -Titanic, James Horner

    And from my family....

-Celtic Woman The Greatest Journey CD (just released Oct. 28!!!)

-Celtic Woman The Greatest Journey DVD (likewise for this one...)

-A Midwinter Night's Dream, Loreena McKennitt's latest Christmas-themed album (just released, October 28)

-The Official Celtic Woman songbook!!!! I've almost got "The Butterfly" down, the #1 funnest song I've ever played before!!!

-Celtic Woman A Christmas Celebration CD, didn't even ask for that one! I have the DVD, and CD now!

-And Winter Came, Enya's new Christmas album (released November 10th, ugh!!!)

-A ten dollar gift crd to Hot Topic

-A stupid girly, pretty-boy Joe Jonas pillow given to me by the pillow-enemy (aka, Christina) who thought it would be funny to give to me. Man, she really got me good this year........the card, the pillow, the obsessive tagging on FB! GEES!!! Just wait until Christmas.....she's goin' down!!!! Yes, we are having a bit of a Disney Channel war with her, I'm sure Alyosha already knew that though, if she's been on Facebook recently......*clears throat*

Wow....*looks back* I got a lot! I feel so spoiled.......

My sister's Birthday was on the 3rd, and I bought her the Viva La Vida songbook for piano! Speaking of which, it hasn't come in yet, and that really annoys me!

    Until my next update! Tata!

  • Five Ukrainians in a Bell Tower

So, I went to a violin lesson yesterday and got a new piece of music......

It's called "Five Ukrainians in a Bell Tower" (second violin, of course), and is incredibly fun to play! It's a version of "Carol of the Bells", one of my favourite traditional Christmas songs next to "What Child Is This".

There's four soloists in this song (I believe viola, first violin, second violin, and cello.....) and I've been offered a chance to play the second violin solo if I can win it over four other players! Yikes...... I really want to get this one, I think it's a really neat piece of music but I'm up against some of our best players here!

Oh well, I guess I'm just going to have to double my practicing time!

Anyways, if you want to hear our new song click here, nothing scary will pop up, just a small window with a little player----------------------> http://notes.sheetmusicplus.com/store/smp_soundclip.html?item=18398125&f=18398125_01.mp3&cart=343427943426826892

It's a jazz song, and that's what's going to get me....the swinging! I'm not used to swinging music since I'm not real into jazz and stuff, but I think I can get the hang of it! Plus it's in 5/4 time, and I'm not real used to that either.

The Hyper Ramblings from Myself and Isobella

    Good evening.......

Beware: This is a long post, and most of it is filled with endless ramblings about things that are annoying me, or that I am thinking about.

I'm so looking forward to Hallowe'en (can't you tell???!!!)! And no, not for that Trick or Treating crap (but, I am hoping to wander the neighborhood for a few hours with a couple of friends, at least until ten when the law will force us 'miners' back inside! Yes, to Trick or Treat.....)! I'm still planning on going as the Phantom, I never really liked the whole 'costume' thing so I'll just throw that one together again.

Of course, it's Hallowe'en movies for a few hours that night as well! Hopefully, Sleepy Hollow (Tim Burton's edition of course, I LOVE that one!), Hocus Pocus, or whatever else is on. With my luck, one of those idiot Jason movies that put me to sleep will be on though (yeah, like I'd actually watch one of those movies! How many are there, 97?! I saw one, and according to my father, there all the same)....... but most of the night will be spent doing.......Hallowe'en things......

Okay, wow.... I'm totally being a rebel....It's this rock that I've started listening too.......... *blames it on the music*

    *hyper*

*clears throat* I'm going back to me old self again......

The show on Wednesday went extremely well! Isobella, (my violin, yes I named her! Don't give me a hard time about it..... I already get enough of that from having her in bed with me every night.....) and myself played the solo(s) brilliantly, and we played everything else as leader of the 2nd violins brilliantly as well (as usual *looks at nails* hehe.....), I would have preffered it to have gone longer, but it worked!  I actually got more solo work for that show than what I had originally planned on getting, which was nice.....

We're back with the Christmas concert, no idea the date, no idea of the location!  I just know that I'm still stuck in 2nd violin, bah. Three. months. Left.

No orchestra this Friday. Great. Well, there has to be one downfall to Hallowe'en! But, you can't get going with Hallowe'en until late! According to me, orchestra ends right about when I'm waking up.....

I went to a lesson today. Apparently we have Jazz pieces to do this time! I don't play much jazz, I find it dull to listen to, so I never checked into playing it. What I got is stuff under level two and usually that kind of music can be beyond boring, but not this kind! It's really fun, because of the swinging and the fingering! It kind of wakes up the brain a little from all that old stuff! I think my teacher has decided to take all of our skills to a new level, and jazz really can help do that (or so I'm told...) because it's different than other kinds of music!

    *is very hyper still*

My Birthday is in Two weeks. Not too exciting really, please don't ask how old I'm turning.  My sister and I are having a party this Sunday (our Birthdays are one day apart, I'm November 2nd, she's the 3rd, no, we're NOT twins). The planning is going well, we finished the playlist (hehe...), it's filled with Coldplay, Switchfoot (her choice), Enya, Nightwish, and musical stuff.

It's funny, that's the first thing we did. The playlist!

I went to church on Sunday and sang Soprano in choir. It's still dull as ever, way too simple!

I can't think of anything else to say.......I got new clothes, spent a while in the mall the other day, cleaned out my room, and am dreading HSM 3 for no apparant reason....It's just who I am I guess.

Time to ramble on about random, stupid things!

But first, I really like Morghan's idea about hitting her head on the keyboard........

     fbqu9out8utvo;qchgdjkur7urukghfnjhvnbcnmbcvcmhtttghcc

      Thanks, Morghan! *feels better*

My brothers have decided to have no mercy, and subject me to the cruelty of Disney Channel these days. My mother has decided to stoop down to the level of allowing them to watch The Suite Life of Zakk and Cody, and believe me, it's been nothing else since she said "okay"!  The only thing good about Zakk and Cody is that there's no Miley Cyrus, or The Jonas Brothers to invade on one who is being forcebly rejected to the stupidity of Disney Channel. And that in itself, is a relief above all others (I don't know what I'd do if my brothers decided to get into either one of them....*trys to imagines the horror*)

     Okay, enough of that.....

I made seventy-dollars from turning in the cans and bottles the other day. That money is all for Christmas, hopefully I'll have some left over though.....

I'm buying my sister the first season of Psych for her Birthday! Her and I both love watching it, and she's been wanting it for a while.

What is with everyone singing about death? I mean really, they can't find anything more intelligent to sing about besides wanting to be dead?

I stayed up and watched Titanic the other night! I loved it, it's now my second favourite movie next to The Lord of the Rings trilogy (of course). I know it's a romance, but I really liked it! I'm starting to find that hissing and sticking your fingers in the air shaped like in 'x' when someone says the word "romance" is pathetic (for me, it's changed from doing that when someone says "romance", to doing it when someone says "Camp Rock".  Okay, so I have a problem with that....).

The music for Titanic was the best soundtrack I've heard since The Village! I'm hoping to get it for my Birthday now.......

What else should I go on about......... I guess that's about it........

Until my next post (however far away that may be...)

    Hey Everyone!

My gosh it's been a long time, or at least, that's what it feels like! Just about at two months now I think since my last entry. Wow!

Talk soon!

Tata!
